At Acorns Children’s Hospice, the goal is to make every day special for children during their time at the hospice. Caring for a child with complex medical needs can place immense physical and emotional strain on families. That’s why Acorns focuses on more than just providing expert palliative care—they help families create cherished memories that last a lifetime.
Acorns offers a warm, homely setting where children can take part in a range of fun activities, make new friends, or simply unwind in a peaceful environment. The dedicated and highly skilled staff take time to get to know each child, carefully listening to their needs and adjusting activities to suit their individual preferences. Whether it’s engaging in creative play or enjoying some much-needed quiet time, Acorns is committed to giving each child the best possible experience in a nurturing space.

#2 The Dragons Back
6 days, 380km and 16,400m ascent
This year, we’re taking on the legendary 2024 Dragon’s Back Race, considered the toughest mountain race in the world.
Spanning six days, this ultra-distance race covers over 380km, weaving through the rugged terrain of Wales from Conwy Castle in the north to Cardiff Castle in the south. Climbing twice the height of Everest, participants face steep climbs, rocky ridgelines, and unpredictable weather in one of the most demanding endurance events out there.
We’re taking on this epic challenge not just for the adventure and a potential night out in Cardiff, but to raise awareness and crucial funds for Acorns Children’s Hospice. Our goal is to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families who need it most.
